"So when I noticed their post for a workshop on Cinematography by Kwame Black. I was excited and signed up with Beach Boys Africa.During day 1, insightful knowledge was shared about intro to cinematography, framwork and its technicalities.
Even the amazing waves breaking in the background at the workshop location didnt interfere with the focus on Kwame Black and the two guest speakers.Day 2, started off with props set up for the practical session.
Got to see the Gafar team work judicious to create a filming studio; was amazed at the work ethics.
Each team got the chance to exhibit their abilities with guidance from Kwame Black; and the build up to the final team work was epic.
Using flashing lights to simulate lightning. Amazing!"

"I found this training project to be both impactful and insightful from a visual storytelling perspective. The project allowed us to explore the intricate balance between technical skills and creative expression. The sessions were well-structured, offering a comprehensive overview of the essential techniques that every cinematographer should master. The practical exercises, particularly those involving lighting setups and camera movements, were instrumental in helping us refine our craft. The hands-on approach fostered a deeper understanding of how to translate theoretical knowledge into compelling visual narratives.
However, as with any production, there were areas where the pacing could have been improved. Some segments felt rushed, which occasionally hindered the ability to fully absorb and apply the techniques being taught. Incorporating more real-world scenarios, such as live shoots or on-set problem-solving, could elevate the training even further.
In conclusion, this training project was a success, providing a strong foundation that will undoubtedly enhance our future cinematographic endeavors. The experience has enriched my skills and reaffirmed my passion for visual storytelling."

"I think the workshop was well-structured, covering all the essential aspects of film production. The instructors encouraged us to get behind the camera and try our hand at directing and all that covers cinematography.
The access to high-quality equipment blew my mind, giving us a real taste of what it's like to work on a professional set.
Surprisingly we the participants had ample time to experiment and received personalized feedback.
I could see passion everywhere from: we the participants to the instructors to the professional guest speakers in various fields of film.
Overall, this film production workshop exceeded my expectations.
A perfect blend of theory and practice and hope for more in this year 2024 and beyond."
